  • This plant can vary greatly in size, flower color and pubescence. Often forms colonies.
  • The Lakota Indians are recorded to have chewed this plant and rubbed it on their hands to aid in catching horses. The Navajo used a cold infusion of this plant to settle children’s upset stomachs.
  • Adapted to dry prairies, open wooded hillsides, roadsides on a variety of soils.
