• This “weedy” annual grass is one of the first grasses to green up on many sites in late winter.
• Earned its common name by coming to the rescue of stockmen following winter when forage was in short supply.
• Will generally provide good grazing up until the end of May.
• Adapted to a variety of soil textures.
